Krysos is a flavored wine obtained from Buttafuoco dell'Oltrepò Pavese DOC vineyard. Herbs and China Calisaya or Chinaroot bark are infused separately into alcohol and the extracts so obtained are added to the base wine Buttafuoco with sugar. The recipe of the herbal blend is a secret jealously guarded by the Rebasti family. To reach the right balance between the ingredients, wine is placed into small oak barrels for about 6 months.
Aroma: Good elegance, net and very intense; chinchona prevails and let transpire spiced hints of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, pleasant vegetables notes and dried fruits.
Tasting: Well structured, well balanced, soft (almost velvety), warm and powerful with a semi-sweet and persistent final.
Pairing: Meditation wine, is one of the few wines that well goes with dark chocolate, excellent on cream ice-cream. Thanks to the sweet-bitter taste Krisos is perfect as a digestive if drunk at low temperatures. Otherwise, as it was used at the beginning of the last century, as a “medicine”. Indeed to the chinato wine, served warm, was assigned by its pharmacists creators the same flu and corroborating therapeutic indications of vin brulé.

The history of the Rebasti family, owners of Poggio Rebasti winery goes back to the end of 1800, when Pietro Rebasti started cultivating vines and producing wine on a small hill in the municipality of Montescano, part of the kingdom of Italy. This passion for viticulture was handed down from father to son until the 1970’s when Ermanno Rebasti, current owner of the farm, personally entered the vineyard and cellar with the clear will to continue with the family’s philosophy and values.
Poggio Rebasti seeks excellence in wine production, day after day, through the care of details in the vineyard, in the cellar and in the relationship with the environment.
Shipments are FREE for orders over € 90 throughout Europe (UE Countries). For all orders of less than € 90 the shipping cost is fixed at € 15.
Our shipments are safe and guaranteed within the 48-72 hours following the order placement if all the ordered products are available on our warehouse. Indeed, our food and delivery service is subject to the availability of stocks of products on our warehouse. In case one or more products will not be available in time for the agreed delivery date to be respected I Like Italian Food would suddenly contact the customer to find a solution.
The orders received during the week-end would be processed the following Monday.
The cost of the shipment charged to the customer is fixed at euro 15,00 for shipments to all Europe. We pack our products by adopting all the necessary precautions in order to preserve the integrity of the different food and beverage products sold.
