Cannonau di Sardegna Caòr DOC

Quartomoro

Quartomoro's Cannonau di Sardegna Caòr comes from vineyards in the municipality of Dorgali, in the province of Nuoro.

It is produced exclusively from Cannonau grapes, harvested manually in crates. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a maximum temperature of 30°C, with maceration in contact with the skins for 7 days. The wine then matures for 6 months in steel and barriques for 6 months in the bottle before release.

This Cannonau di Sardegna presents a medium red colour, tending towards orange with evolution. The palate is soft and enveloping, of beautiful length. The nose opens with a complex bouquet of spicy, fruity and balsamic notes in perfect harmony.

Region

Sardinia

The landscape comes in infinite variations within its large territory: the Lombardy region ranges from the Alps to the countryside, from art cities to tiny hamlets rich in history. Italy’s big lake district (there are more than that fifteen lakes). Lombardy is also the perfect destination for those looking for a dynamic, exciting holiday without getting bored. The cuisine of Lombardy is rich and varied, with solid and rustic flavours that well combine with frigid temperatures and that tell of a close bond with nature and its territory. Recipes passed down from generation to generation are relive through modern reinterpretations yet respectful of traditions.

Quartomoro

The Quartomoro winery was founded in Arborea, in the province of Oristano, as a laboratory of ideas and experiences on Sardinian viticulture and oenology. Oenologist and winemaker Piero Cella founded it in 2011 to produce wines that were an expression of the Sardinian territory. Quartomoro's vineyards extend over a total of 25 hectares and are located in different areas of Sardinia: in Marrubiu, on land rich in obsidian, Vermentino is cultivated; in Terralba, on sandy soils, we find Bovale vines; in the sands of Sulcis, in Calasetta, there is a vineyard still planted with Carignano; in Dorgali, the granite hosts the Cannonau vineyard, while Muristeddu is cultivated in Mandrolisai. In both the vineyard and the cellar, intervention is kept to a minimum to respect natural processes as much as possible. Through continuous research and experimentation, Quartomoro succeeds in producing elegant and unique wines that testify to the wealth of biodiversity and tell the story of Sardinian terroir.
