DOCG Brachetto D’Acqui named "Niades" is made from partially fermented grape must of 100% Brachetto grapes grown in calcareous soil of medium consistency with good water retention, under a Mediterranean climate that features some continental characteristics especially in winter. From spring to autumn, the presence of the typical south wind called "Marin", which cools down the sunny days, is very important.
Perfection is achieved when there is nothing left to remove and not when there is nothing left to add. Gianluca Morino - Owner
Founded at the beginning of the last century, Cascina Garitina is a fourth-generation family business, whose name comes from the great-grandmother’s nickname, “Margheritina” (“Garitina” in the regional dialect).
Cascina Garitina’s vineyards extend over 26 hectares, elevating from 240 to 350 meters above sea level. They are situated in the centre of the Monferrato area, in the municipalities of Castel Boglione, Nizza Monferrato and Castelnuovo Calcea. The 70% of the planted area is devoted to Barbera grape variety cultivation.
