Barolo Chinato DOCG is created combining Barolo DOCG with infusions of chincona bark Quasso wood, gentian root, cardamom seeds and other natural flavourings. It was born in the late 19th century in a pharmacy located in the Langa region and first produced by the pharmacists who worked in different towns of the Barolo area. It soon became a mythical elixir with extraordinary properties.
Aroma: Garnet red with brick red hues and with long lasting complex aroma, with hints of spices and herbs, among which cinchona, rhubarb and cinnamon stand out.
Tasting: The taste is full, velvety and wrapping. Pleasant bitter aftertaste reminiscent of the olfactory sensations.
Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif or digestif. Try it with bitter chocolate, desserts and pastries made with chocolate, ice cream, Piedmont hazelnut cake ...or serve warm as a panacea.

The history of Azienda Fratelli Rovero starts at the end of the nineteenth century. The last two generations continued the family tradition expanding the company and using farming techniques that guarantee safe and natural products. The organic farming has been extended to the whole production over the years, representing now the company’s strong point as an example for many farmers.
