Barbera Val Tidone IGT "AETERNA"

  • Barbera wine, with Val Tidone IGT trademark, named "Aeterna", is made in limited quantities with 100% Barbera grapes from a more than 65 years old vineyard located in Val Tidone hills, Emilia Romagna. The favourable location of the vineyards and the longevity of the plants give together rise to a perfectly balanced wine with a great tasting longevity.
    Any lees in the bottle is given by the lack of pre-bottled clarifications or filtrations and is synonymous of great quality.
    Aroma: Vinous scent with undergrowth berries hints which accompany the decided and characteristic taste of the vine, mild notes of tobacco and pepper may be noticed.
    Tasting: It has a fair tannic and large taste with a long persistence , a slightly higher acidity typical and feature of this vine, always with a tenderness due to the important alcohol content.
    Pairing: Wine to be served at a 18 to 20 degrees temperature. Thanks to the right balance between acidity, typical of this variety great structure and alcohol content it can be combined with tasty and decided flavors , sometimes also fat and juicy, recommended with braised or roasted red meat or with wild boar , goat or deer wild game. It is recommended also with seasoned or herbaceous cheeses in particular with a 24 months seasoning goats/vaccines milk’s or pecorino cheeses.

  • Valla viticulture was born in 2007, when the current owner, Davide Valla, takes over the historical family vineyard, previously run by his grandfather Francesco and then by his father Edmondo.
    Davide's vision is to make his company grow against the tide.
    At the time when the others strive to homologize and standardize their products, Valla viticulture is committed to the naturalness of wines, with little technology employed, without clarifications and filtration of wines, with a sparkling wine to be drunk cloudy, as once was done.
