The vines from which this Barbera d'Asti DOCG is produced are planted on limestone soil with clay grains. Selected grapes are harvested from the second half of September when reached the right ripening. After crushing, fermentation in stainless steel tank follows, macerating from 5 to 7 days for the best colour and structure extraction. The malolactic fermentation follows spontaneously. The wine is aged in steel for 6 months continuing the refinement for minimum 6 months in an oak barrel, then stored for other 6 months in the cellar before consumption.
"Respect for tradition and culture of genuineness translate into our excellent wine." Cristina Franco - Owner
Tenuta Capri is located at the centre of Monferrato Astigiano area in Piedmont, listed as Unesco World Heritage Site. Its story began in the 20th century, when grandpa Bernardo started the cultivation of vineyards, even though the production of wine was destined only for the family and friends’ consumption. In the '80s, his son Pierluigi Bruno, a great passionate of the agricultural and wine industry, began his winemaking career. The family still supervises the entire winemaking process, from vine growing and vinification to bottling and direct sale of the products.
