Arborio Rice 1Kg
The Arborio rice is an Italian variety of Superfino rice, with very big and pearled grain. Very much used to prepare risotto. It takes its name from the place near Vercelli, in the Po valley, called Arborio, where this variety has been selected.
Rich in amylose, it has a good baking strength and binds a lot. For this reason, it is recommended for stuffed or sweet arancini, for whisked risotto and timbale.

Piedmont is in Italy's northwest and borders Switzerland and France. True to the meaning of its name (foot of the mountain), Piedmont is a land of mountains. It is surrounded on three sides by the Alps, with the highest peaks and largest glaciers in Italy. The most typical specialties of the regional cuisine are fondue and bagna cauda: two warm and out-of-this-world dips that celebrate the Alba white truffle and raw vegetables. Some of the many excellent dishes include the great mixed fry, braised beef in Barolo wine, civet of hare and a wide array of cheeses: toma, robiola, bruss from the Langhe, gorgonzola from Novara, and sernium from Biella.
Back five generations the Perinotti Family cultivates rice in the Grange Vercellesi area in Piedmont. A life dedicated to rediscovering varieties of native rice: an ambitious choice in a historic period in which standardization rules. Gli Aironi brand's name means herons, birds that stand out also in the company logo, formerly in way of extinction and now returned in great numbers in the Grange, confirming the company's attention to environmental sustainability. Another proof is the work done to hydraulic works that have allowed to reduce to the minimum the usage of chemical products.
